Is it wrong to have a favorite? I just keep telling myself that it's his age. I love the babbling, learning to use his hands, all the smiles and laughter. I love that I can put him in one place and he stays there. I love that when I walk by him he tries to catch my eye and when he does he gives me a full body smile, extending arms and legs into expressions of joy. I love the way he holds tightly onto my shirt or hand while he nurses. I love the continual adoration he gets from his brothers. Yesterday in the car Luke noticed Isaac holding his own pacifier and told Noah, "Isaac learned to hold his binkie, let's clap for him." So we drove along with the big boys clapping for their baby. I feel like clapping for him all the time too.I think there's a little more to it than the age though. I think it's easier to love the third because I know how to let go a little better. I can do this, and I have evidence. The other two survived-- surely he will too. I can just relax and enjoy him. And enjoy him I do.

He is beautiful. Your boys are so cute and loving of each other. It is exciting to see babies grow. I felt like Gideon grew so much yesterday, learning a little better to hold his bottle and playing happily for so long. Jonathan is back now, and thinks Gideon's crying is more self aware now. Wow! These changes are amazing.
