Soccer

Would you look at that huge boy? It seems laughable that I could possibly have a child that tall and that old. Looking through these pictures was just a little shocking. He's really moved on and up in the world. He seems so much more big kid than little kid these days. Then we'll have moments where he still wants to sit on my lap or snuggle in close while we work on homework and I feel comforted, knowing he still needs me and longs to be close to me.

He started soccer along with school last week and loves it. It's been a year since he last played and so we've had to refresh him on some of the basics. He loves running around and is so much more aware of the other players than he was the last time he played. It's fun to see the difference in the way kids play soccer as they age. Second graders have figured out how to pass the ball and stay in their positions instead of all the kids swarming like they do when they are younger. It seems telling of their maturity and awareness of others.
